Traditional 2D Animation

All of the 2D animation featured in "Syrenka" will be drawn by hand on paper. As Director and Lead Animator, my aim is to embrace the humanity behind the art of visual storytelling. Brought up on Disney’s Golden Age classics, my overarching career goal has been to uphold that legacy by animating frame-by-frame on paper. In an age of mass production and digitalization, it is ever more important to uplift the individual human artist and celebrate traditional craftsmanship. “Syrenka” is a story set in a bygone age with a contemporary message. I chose to make the short the old-fashioned way to revitalize a classic animation art form so that it can be appreciated and cherished not only by professionals like myself, but also by a wide range of audiences.
